I’ve posted privately a few things for some industry gents from a particular film.
Twice, I’ve had some misinformed mooks report me for copyright infringement.
I was one of the screenwriters.

if it's just a cover and youre not making money it doesn't matter if they label it copyright. It doesn't give you an infraction.

It depends on the original rightsholder. You can get a strike even if you’re not monetizing.

I picked up a Zoom video camera last year and I've been recording my cover bands. I post videos on YT of the songs that turn out good......sometimes the whole song and sometimes compilations with short clips of several songs. When I post them they get hit almost immediately with the copyright thing but they don't get blocked. Anyone can still watch them.

I've only had one that was blocked and it was a cover of Don Henley's Boys Of Summer. What's weird about that is that I've posted other videos of us covering that song that didn't get blocked so I have no idea how they decide.

Mine got blocked also (a couple) but there is supposed to be a way to share them privately by putting email addys in which I did but it just didn't work.
