Seeing Husker Du in 87 changed my life. Just three dudes who looked exactly like us--schlubby--just rockin' with those great melodies.

Very sad. One of the great lead singing drummers and a gifted songwriter

The guitarist in my originals band toured with him and has a lot of stories. I guess he was quite the aggressive driver, lol! Way too young.

This is such a devastating loss. Lots of people here in the Twin Cities, including myself, have so many stories about Grant. One of a kind.

We cover GH's "All of My Senses" in one of my bands. Great tune. First time I'd heard him without Husker Du.

56 is way too young to go. RIP

There were rumors on Huskers reunite. A sad end.

I think Grant deserves a tribute gig of Bob and Greg with Dave Grohl behind the drums.

Sweet Jeebus, not Grohl...that damn guy overexposed. Today's Michael McDonald / Phil Collins.

Bun? You interested in the gig?

I think the only guy who's going to get that gig is Jon Wurster; an amazing drummer who would do it justice. PLEASE not Grohl.

damn.

Grant was one of my favs.

I was in high school circa 82/3 when my friend introduced me to Everything Falls Apart.
Husker Du changed my life, along with The Minutemen.

Odd timing...as this evening, two of my musician buddies from college are doing a 7 song set of Husker Du tunes.
We did the first gig on my 50bday in 2016, and now the other dudes are hitting 50, so we scheduled the gig.
then find out ....Grant died.

How about someone from the SST scene?

George Hurley?
Bill Stevenson?

or someone from Minneapolis? Chris Mars?

Incredibly sad. Those first few albums really influenced me. F#*k cancer.

Bill Stevenson, absolutely.

While lots of bands have gotten together 30-plus years after a break-up, does that usually turn out well? I mean, it would have been fun to see the Replacements or the Misfits last year, but nothing like seeing either band in the 80s.

Just like the current stadium tour of Guns 'N Roses. Oh you've seen Guns 'N Roses! Back in the 90s or now? 'Cause the difference is night and day.
