Joel's a favorite of mine who I don't think gets as much attention as he deserves. Great live video - he makes it look so easy.

Agreed!!! Solid, Fantastic drummer. Saw him a few years ago with Blood Sweat and Tears and I was most impressed. Great show!!

Wow! I forgot about Joel. I think Joel roomed with Dave Weckl in Mt. Vernon some 40 odd years ago. Both Dave and Joel were with Gary Chester a bit before I was. Joel subbed and then took over the Michel Camilo gig from Dave when Dave went with Chick Corea. Michel Camilo had Anthony Jackson with him on bass, so you are talking formidable talent. Joel played a bit like Dave but his time feel was a bit more laid-back to my ears. I do remember Joel in Sypro Gyra, I think after Richie Morales drummed for them. Joel's a bit of an unknown for sure, but I bet I've heard him play on more things than I know.

Good stuff! Played at Cafe Lena(Saratoga N.Y.) a few times. Not load in friendly but nice place.
