Paiste: The mystical, esoteric & awesome company that regularly discontinues perfectly great cymbals like its a contest.

Maybe with some luck we can all post our past favorites and wishful additions for them to possible see.... And produce for us to consume!

I'll start off with a couple:

-Signature Dark Metal Ride: Sold mine years ago and really liked it for loud, rock settings. Looked great as well.

-2002 Rock Series: Yes, originally Dimensions series, but the whole "rock" line was great. Powerful, warm, and also great looking cymbals.

Yes, true Jtpaistegeist! They had many excellent lines/models that now are O.O.P......sad to see.

My favorite lines:

Dark Energy
Dimensions
F602, black labels
2002, black labels

I have been using the following in different ways: 20" F602, black label medium ride, 18" 2002 black label crash, 17" Dimensions medium thin crash, 17" Dark Energy crash, 14" D.E. mark I hi hats, 14" Dimension thin/heavy hi hats, 18" Dimensions thin china, 20" Crystal thin, 20" Traditionals medium light swish, and 21" Sig. dry heavy ride.

I wish they'd lower the price of the Masters Swish and maybe make a 24" version.

Nice setup! I really miss the Dimensions and Innovations series. I still kick myself for selling a 20" Dimensions Power China with 8 rivets. Without a doubt, the best rock china, and powerful dark accent cymbal I have owned.

I always wanted the Sound Creation Short Crash 16"... but if they were available again I'd probably looking at a 18" and 20" as well.

I know they released some N.O.S. a few years ago, but I didn't happen to see any (I probably should have paying more attention / actively searching).

Eric says the sound creation spirit lives on in the Masters and Dark Energy series.. so no chance of seeing them again.... but with Paiste " never say never"
The 2000 series yes I would LOVE to see again.. and in the reflector finish

Oh yeah, I would like to see even a short reissue of 2000 & 3000 series. Would anyone want the snazzy 2000 Sound Reflections logos lol!!

Id like to see them offer the Reflector finish on all 2002s and Signatures. Theres something special about cymbals in that finish, they take nearly no extra energy to get them to open up completely and the decay is smooth and musical.

Ive never seen or heard a bad sounding Paiste with the Reflector finish.

Completely agree. Paiste reflector cymbals are amazing, but unfortunately the signature reflector line was never given too much attention compared to the 2000 Sound Reflections line. The sound reflections are my absolute favorites, hence this ridiculous photo of my cymbal set.

I wish Paiste would expand the sig reflector line to include 15" hats, more rides including a 24", and more effects cymbals too. I have no doubt they would be very popular if given some attention.

All that being said, 2OOO's, dark energy, and the 602's are my favorite paiste lines.

I like the idea of expanding the Sig line back to its former glory, instead of only adding artist inspired rides. Would love to see more size options up to 24" rides. I bet a 24" Sig Full Ride would be awesome! Also, I miss the larger power crashes. Used to have the 19" and it was a monster!

I am another fan of the Dimensions line- especially the thin and medium thin crashes, splashes and thin/Heavy hihats and Dry ride.

I wish they would expand the reissue 602 line and bring back 17" and 19" thin crashes, 20";21" and 22" Heavy rides, 20";21" and 22" Dark rides.

I wish they would expand the Traditional series and bring back the Medium and Medium-heavy rides and 22" Medium Light ride.

It is a given tat I would love to see the Sound Creations return, but I understand the breakage percentage during manufacturing made them to expensive to make.

So, Sabian has the new custom shop feature allowing you to build your dream cymbal. I know that Paiste is finicky about custom orders...

I can only imagine how awesome a Paiste version of this would be. Pick your alloy, series, hammer, profile, finish..wow

I think the issue with the Signature Reflectors were that it was such a limited release, and then the expansion only catered to the heavy players. I would think that if the entire line was available as Reflectors just as natural/brilliant finishes are available from S & Z then more people could put together a usable set. And yes, it would require returning Signature to its former glory and possibly expanding the line with bigger models of hats/rides.

Bring back the 20" 2oo2 Thin crash!

When they reintroduced the Giant Beats, I wanted them to add a 22" so bad...waited and waited. Now they have it. And it's so dang expensive! Ugh.

I dig them also. Ive got an 18 Dimensions Reflector crash that Ill probably never part with.

Expand the Classic 602 line! How about: 18" Medium Flat Ride, 18" Medium Ride, Thin version of the 20" Flat Ride & 17" & 19" (Thin & Paper Thin) Crashes.

I agree. If you trace back the whole reflector history, I'm not aware of any reflector lines prior to the 2000 Sound reflections and 3000 Reflector lines. After those were discontinued, the dimensions got a much smaller reflector treatment, and then signatures got a small reflector treatment too. However, I don't think any Paiste line ever had as many reflector finish offerings as the 2000 series. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
