A friend of mine, who owns a pack and post locally, showed me a really cheap and effective alternative. Go to a furniture store or carpet store and ask them if they'll give you the thick plastic wrap that furniture and carpet is often shipped in. They've probably got tons of it they throw in the dumpster daily. It's thick enough to wrap and provide cushion, and light enough that it doesn't make the shipping cost too high. Best of all it's free.

paper is cheap, go to the recycle place and grab a bunch of old newspaper. or find a shipping dock and show up with a 12 pack of Bud,

furniture stores and music stores is were i get alot of my stuff (as well as my old job) they throw away tons of good reusable (and usually clean) packing material all the time. i do this so i don't have to charge extra for packing material and it gets atleast a 2nd life. its liteweight and protects the items in the package excellent.

as for packing peanuts and other packing material, i also see free ads all the time on craigslist. for stores to people that just moved.

If you have to buy, uline is often your best bet. I used to get the large perforated rolls. Make sure to check the shipping costs.

DanRh's curb in the early morning on trash day.

Also peanuts?

Thanks in advance.
Gary - I can send you a bunch of peanuts if you pay postage...I'll fill a box for you and since $$based on weight it should be really cheap.

Interested. PM me!
