Dollar Store Pool Noodles! I purchased a cymbal awhile back and the seller had 4 cut pieces of a pool noodle on the cymbal as protection. I thought it was a brilliant shipping hack, so thought I'd share. I'm just packing up a cymbal I sold, so only had a small piece left, but it's enough to protect the vulnerable edges in the box. Maybe this is a known thing or has been discussed before...

Yes, I suppose cardboard is the easier way to go! LOL! I just had this from a purchase and thought it was so cool. Way to make my post lame! Baahahaha! ;)
Ha...no it's a great idea.

I received a cymbal a while back from a member here that had the noodles around the entire perimeter of the cymbal. I've been doing that for a couple of years now. Best way yet!

Foam pipe insulation at Home Depot costs $1.53 for 6 foot length. I have used this many times. You can wrap the entire cymbal or just put pieces where the edge makes contact with the box.

AWESOME!!! Thanks!

Back in the day when buying Spizz from Italy, Luciano would wrap the edge in an old used bike tyre, there was a bike shop near the cymbal shop. Rip Luciano & Roberto two fine gents

I too use pipe insulation...cheap and readily available. I also put 4 pieces folded into triangles into the box corners to cushion even more.

Someone on the forum once sold me a cymbal with pipe insulation wrapped around the entire circumference. I had forgotten all about that until this thread, but it's genius!
