What a week. I saw this on Steve Gadd's FB page. Chuck was such a great musician. I'm so glad he had a hit song; never got to see him live.

This is a pretty serious wave of famous people mortality going on.

Loved Chuck and his music. His drummer was always on point as well, tight pocket work galore.

Rest in peace brother Chuck.
I saw Chuck in Wallingford, Ct, late 70's early 80's, can't quite remember. Great concert and James Bradley Jr was drumming. What a show! RIP Chuck!

What a huge loss. Living in the Rochester area, he was one of this area's most noteworthy musicians, along with Steve Gadd and Lou Gramm. I saw him in concert in college just after the "Feels So Good" album came out. He was one of the few jazz musicians who was able to cross over into pop music.

Saw him at a Jazz band JR High School competition that my school was competing in. He was the headliner for the event and his whole band was so talented that it really showed me what dedication and skill looked like. Before that I really had not witnessed that level in person, only on records.

Wow, another big loss. The last record my band recorded featured a cover of Feels So Good (done in 7). We also covered a Lyle Mays tune. Shortly after recording Lyle's tune, he passed away. Now Chuck. Man, we are losing all the greats! Too sad.

Nice playing sir !!!

I heard him live and got an autographed postcard. I remember listening to the album of his with Steve Gadd on drums. The thing I most liked about him was his periodic appearances on King of The Hill. I really liked how he was willing to poke fun at himself.

I had no idea! Hilarious. And he obviously didn't take himself so seriously.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Chuck's passing. "Feels So Good" will always take me back to one of the happiest times in my life ...... when my wife-to-be and I first got together. I hope his spirit is in a good place ...... with lots of other great musicians.

But there is an old saying ....... something about clouds and silver linings ........ Otherwise, I would probably not have discovered Jazz Martyrs and Paul's terrific playing ......... thanks for that, dsop!
