Yellow drums on the The Final Frontier? Someone beat you to it.

Even so, go Tama...all the way!

I ordered yellow drums from Noble & Cooley in 1991.
What I have learned is that lots of other people don't like yellow drums. Twice I've tried to play my N&C drums on tour and been asked if I have a darker, less in your face kit I can use instead. I recently bought a grey kit as a result.

One of many reasons I never got into loud colors for drums. While I can appreciate how cool they look in yellow, orange, purple, etc. I never sought it out for myself. I'm more of a Piano Black or White Marine Pearl kind of guy. I do have a Sonor Bop kit in Silver Sparkle, or whatever they called it that's nice too.

I just never wanted to be in a situation where someone asked me to bring a more understated kit. I'm not at the gig to have the focus on me.

If I had the kind of juice with Ludwig that Carter McLean has I'd have them make me a set with the same shell layup (maple/poplar/mahogany) but in my sizes (22/22/12/13/14/16). However, I'd select the deeper yellow that Carter considered instead of the "dirty yellow" that he finally chose.

Yellow drums always intrigued me but not enough to buy a set . I think I would tire of the finish quickly . Now that being said , that Tama Star Bubinga kit Peter Erskine has might be one of the best sounding set of drums I have ever heard on YouTube .

Very nice indeed

Yellow wouldn’t normally pique my own tastes, but theres something about Canary Yellow vintage Camco’s that does it for me
