Looks like I’m now playing in a second band that started as a duo—singer/songwriter/guitarist and bass player/singer. Man, I'm excited!
Best part is that I get to play brushes on my 1960 "Rogers Parklane Cocktail Outfit"--also known as "Stew McGoo," as the original owner etched that name on the rims.
On Sunday, we did a show for 2,000 people at the Salem (Oregon) Convention Center where we played “behind” the festivities, i.e., we are acoustic with a small Bose PA. It was for some VIPs in a charity event. I was a last minute addition, meant to add percussion to up the ante a bit, and we never rehearsed—I had to improvise for four hours.
It was a success and we got a couple of gigs out of it. Living room party stuff for wealthy clientele. Now looking to add bar gigs, too.
The Youtube video below is an original song by the leader of the duo, the bearded guy. Whoops! I mean trio. Now we’re a trio… It was recorded on an iPhone and I dubbed in the photos from various sources.
