Let's just hope the 2 bidders that have to have it and ran themselves up early on.....don't get cold feet after a few days of no further bids.
But the current high bidder with over 1200 FB's is probably a seasoned player who knows that they want and what they are willing to pay.
Their initial max bid was $550 and it was uncovered by bidder 2 in short order. It could end up at $700-$800.

I wonder what Mel Lewis or Shelly Manne would say about this?

'staring down at it..."yea that's a nice cymbal I had one with Tex Beneke"
-------Mel Lewis

There’s a story in Mel’s autobiography about him getting one of Shelly’s swishes and then somehow losing it. I think that’s the story. I’ll have to go back and reread that.

Can't imagine another cymbal sounding quite like this one.. There are certain situations when this would be the best absolute sounding cymbals ever. Early on it probably had a rivet in every hole.
Just curious Mac...how did you come upon it and why did you have to have it?

What kind of old Cymbalholic would you be if you don’t give us some small taste with a sound file or video?

How rideable is it ?

Below 3 kg at 26 inch and still in shape after 60 years. Wow. Must sound great.

DUDE...that's a stunning piece of metal...and by the generous amount of rivet holes it was obviously owned by someone who had their fingers on the pulse of 40's/50's big band!!
