What's your current pedal ?What do like about it ? Are you looking to duplicate its action ? What's your budget ?

If you prefer a chain drive , there's plenty of used out there for @ 100$ As previously mentioned, DW 5000 is a tried and true workhorse with all kinds of adjustments to adaptto your style .

I really like both the Tama Iron Cobra 600, and the 200.
Simple pedals with a decent range of adjustments... both are smooth. I believe the 200 can be had for around $80 on the usual sites.
The 600 which is a bit beefier is in the $115-$130 range...

The Yamaha 7210. It's actually my pedal of choice. I like simpler pedals. The practice studio I use has them and they get the snot beat out of them. Simple, reliable, great stuff. I also have my original 1988 DW 5000s. Somebody said that the undersides of them break, but I have two and zero problems. Both are heartily recommended. I actually may look into a 6000.

Frankly, all the lower priced basic pedals, from every brand, are pretty much the exact same design. I've never played one that was in good condition that wasn't good. Only pedal that felt weird and came loose was the higher end DW 9000.

I hear ya, it definitely took me a month to get it set up correctly for the feel I was after…micro adjustments for days. I did get it pretty solidly tuned though.
Huh. I like my Tama Classic, I've played dozens of gigs with it. Basically took it out of the box, set it up in what seemed like a logical fashion and haven't touched it since. Great feel. I doubt I could pass a blindfold (blind-foot?) test between it and my Sonor Jo Jo, which cost more than twice as much.

Tama Speed Cobra 310

$110 from Sweetwater

I’ve had nothing but trouble with my 910 Speed Cobra .

I love love love the way my speed cobras feel, but it's like they're made of balsa wood.

My very favorite of all time is the lowly Pearl P100TW. They feel pretty decent, but are so sturdy that after the nuclear apocalypse they'll still be around for the giant mutant cockroaches to play on.
I also like that the beaters can be adjusted to be *gasp* the same distance from the center so they can *gasp* make the same tone. That offset garbage tone on most other pedals is for the birds.

Interesting. I have 3 Speed Cobra 910 singles and a double and have never had a single problem with any of them. Best pedal I've played in 40+ years of drumming. What problems have you had?
I said what my problems were .

Thanks to all!
