Best Birthday Gift Ever!

I celebrated my 70th birthday just last Saturday, March 16th, with all my family and friends over to help celebrate. Unbeknownst to me, my sister arranged for me to get a ride in a cool vintage fire truck, which is owned by a neighbor in my community. What a surprise when it showed up with horns blaring! I got to sit in the cab, along with my grand-niece, as we were driven around my neighborhood. Very cool! Now, you'd think that was the "best" gift?! Au contraire! The best gift was from a good friend, and fellow drummer, who gave me this cool Zildjian Key ring! Just check out the detail of the Zildjian stamp! I had a great birthday celebration!

Looks like a good time was had by all. =)
 
I once got a traditional incense burner from a friend who knew I loved vintage stuff, and I honestly didn’t expect it to become part of my drum room vibe, but it totally did. There’s just something cool about having it lit during long practice sessions—it sort of helps me focus and chill between runs. Unexpected, but now I kind of can’t go without it.
