Great playing Bongo. one of the most unique sounding drummers I have heard in a while. Did you do much post production?
Your style reminds me a little of Horacio Hernandes to the extent that you do a great job of covering the drum and percussion parts seamlessly/

Thanks everybody for the compliments! And thanks, Ian, for the reference to Horacio Hernandes - to note, his world of drumming is quite a bit deeper and more musical. I'd like to think that sometimes I touch on the greats, or have glimpses of greatness in that distant drumming horizon.... Nonetheless, to answer your question, first of all, no editing was done on the drums. My wife, Gloria, filmed with the middle camera, with two stationary cameras on the side: 1 panasonic HD, 1 JVC HD, and one flip cam, hence the mobile shots. Ten mics were placed on the kit. 2 NT5's - overheads, 3 Sennheiser 604's - toms, shure 57 - top of snare, shure beta 57 - bottom of snare, doumbek - shure 57, NT-1A - hi-hat/Djembe, Beta-52 - kick drum. The drums were mixed in Sonar 8.

It was a lot of fun. Always striving to be better in being creative with drumming!

Best Regards,

Bongo John

Forgot to mention that the video, I edited in Final Cut on a MacBook Pro. . . Nothing too fancy, just FYI.
