Do You Wonder Where Your Old Drums Are?

early nineties Sabian HH 22" Heavy Ride . Three rivet holes @ 3/8" from the edge ( me) .

18" Zanki flat ride , just like Charlie's .

1974 B/O 5x14 Supraphonic COB hoops. Only one like it . Paid $ 40 in a secondhandshop . Loaned to a friend ....

I had a Yamaha stage custom that I removed all the lugs (plastic nouveau pieces kept breaking) and replaced them with these heavy brass lugs. It wasn’t pretty and it seemed to change the sound of the drums and make them harder to tune. I do wonder where that one is.

I also had a kit by a small company called Adonis. I didn’t have the kit very long but what stood out to me about it was the shells were almost paper thin. Light as a feather. Sounded really nice, but very quiet and I was in a rock band at the time. That one I also wonder about.

Sold too much gear to keep track but I know where my last kit went and where the latest snare drum sales went. That they are getting used is enough to know for me.

A couple of them. One popcorn snare was bought by a guy who played for one of Bob Marley's sons. A crusty Supraphonic I put back together was bought by some Europeans on vacation. It would be cool to see what those snares have been up to, and if the guy got the Supra re-plated. The Supra also had a fancy batter rim on it that came from a pro drummer who put it on another snare which I ended up buying from him. I restored that drum to the original black chrome hoop, but it would be cool to know his old hoop is still getting mercilessly beaten.

Not a drum, but I mostly want to know where my old 2000 Ford Ranger is. That is one thing I definitely should not have parted with.
