Ladies and gentlemen, it’s true. Drumming will give you muscle definition that you can’t achieve any other way. Especially jazz drumming.

When I was a youngster playing in mid-century drum corps with 3S (tree trunk) drum sticks with 3 hr rehearsals, I used to notice forearm muscle growth, even on my 9 yr old arms. I used to think I looked like Popeye.

Just think of your possible muscle development after herding 23,000 software developers for any length of time. Better than any gym membership!
That’s definitely character development, but I’m not sure it’ll do anything for my muscle development. ;)

Not really sure that’s from drumming. You may want to go to a doctor and get that checked out.
It’s definitely from drumming. It’s the muscle that’s working when I’m playing swing on the ride. Got it on the left side too, but less obvious.
