Hi everybody. These seem to be highly regarded,by some heavy hitters.
Also : what differences have you found in the action of single v.s. double chain drive ? Thanks in advance . Benny K.

I have an older intruder double chain that I use for a LP block, didn't like it for bass drum.
I prefer a direct drive pedal, that's one reason I got the 9611 Direct-Drive double pedal (my first double pedal). I got it for $250 which was $100 less than Yamaha's version.
I also have a single Pacific BOA (got used for $90) that I like.

Drum on,

I also have an older intruder chain drive double. I replaced the footboards a few years ago when I bought a new Hi-hat, so that everything would match. (Originally they had a distinct right and left footboard and if I used the left pedal as a single it looked goofy.) Never had any problems with them, but they did take some getting used to. I went from a Squeak King to these and it took me lots of tweaking and practice to get comfortable with them.

I have two Intruders, both with Strap Drive. I really like these pedals. I bought mine through Midwest percussion for about $85.00 each. The older version with the older pedal plate can be found in the $40.00 50.00 range. I use the intruder on my jazz kits with a bomber mallet and the regular mallet for other music.

I bought an older single pedal with double chain that was in brand new condition from ebay for $35 dollars. GREAT GREAT GREAT Pedal. Worth the asking price.

Benny,
I own 2 Gibraltar Intruder Chain-drive single pedals.
Both have a double thick chain.
One is an older Intruder model with the original footboard, works great, 25 bucks on ebay.
The other is a new Intruder with the fancy scalloped footboard, same chain-drive, $55 from ebay. It has the allen wrenches that attach to the stabilizer plate.
Intruders have the handy offset hoop clamp thingy for ease of installing to the drum.

The Intruders are powerful feeling pedals with multiple adjustments for throw distance & angle, spring tension, beater shaft angle, footboard height, ect..

The ChainDrive intruders have a somewhat slower feel than direct drive pedals like Axis or Ghost, but have plenty of power and can be adjusted to almost anyone's preference.

I just got a Tama IC junior single that I like too. Real supple feel and simple to set-up.
It was $45 shipped from ebay and like new.

Overall, I can recommend the Intruder Single chain-drive pedals as a good solid pedal with multi-adjustments - but a slower feeling throw action that really packs a wallop.

I like the Gibraltar single chain 5300. Go ahead and laugh.... :blackeye: I play them in the studio every day. They are silent and efficient. They dont have a hinge where the split in the heel plate is, just a pin, like the older pedals. I keep waiting for it to wear out, but it never happens. So, I just keep playing them. I have one with every kit, and a spare that lives in the car. I've yet to need the spare.......
