I would love to hear some of your cymbals in person. I have thought about ordering cymbals before or have some made.
I listen to about 200 cymbals for each one I buy. Since I currently have about 15 of them, that's 3000 listens to get my current set together.
I pitch match every new one vs the ones I use. I spent 1.5 hours last night picking out a replacement cymbal for one a cracked.

Do you make sets of Cymbals that work together so that no two clash when a set of 8 of them are all ringing (including 2 hats)?
I would love to hear your thoughts on how to pitch match them.

Hi, nice to meet you!

I can completely understand your quest to find the perfect set of cymbals that will work harmonically and sonically in the best way. Personally, as a jazz drummer, I can go to a gig with a set of hats and two rides that have the same sound qualities, and sometimes I take things that are completely different to get more colors on my palette.

I've created several cymbal sets for different drummers. When building a set, it really depends on the drummer's preferences. However, if a drummer wants similar cymbal sounds, I use the same technique for the entire set, typically applying the same approach to all the cymbals in the set.

Hope that make sense.

I have been using the same hats since I started playing in 1982, but have always wanted a "set" of cymbals vs picking them out one by one over time.
I have a mixture of classic A's and newer K's. On average, to me, the more they are hammered, the better they sound.

I currently use the following:
Ride 22"
Hats 14"
Splash 12"
Crash 16"
Crash 19"?
China 22"

I have plans to add a few more:
6" splash
A clacker or stack or effects cymbal of some kind: Will just cut up my cracked ones I think.
One more crash, have not decided if I go larger or smaller than the existing crashes.

I am actually not picky about what size a cymbal is other that hats, only how it sounds.

Let's say I asked you to make a set of hats and 8 others including 22"+ ride, china, and 5 sizes of splash through crash.
What would that cost and what kind of lead time would it be. +-20%$ range is good enough ballpark.

I have Family permission to get one drum set how ever I want, cost not an issue. Funny, how even as a single person in my 50's I have to ask the family permission to spend this kind of cash.
Deciding between Walnut and Maple Tama star. Was planning to use the same cymbals, but would be cool to have two fully functioning sets.

Very nice set! At the moment I'm more focused on making rides and hats. Those are my two real passions. You can go on my Instagram page or website and let me know if there is something that you like.
