Hi again Guys.
Good to be back.

Have a tough one for you, need your advice. See the pic below of the 60s Everplay set in light Blue Pearl wrap? That was a marvelous 60s MIJ wrap, which I really, really like. I would like to try to match this wrap and rewrap my Gretsch set.

In terms of just buying one of the MIJ sets in that wrap, The Everplay sizes are too small for me (12 x 14 x 20). The Pearl set pictured are the right sizes...BUT....do you guys think its the exact same wrap as the Everplay? It looks different to me, but i could be wrong. What say you?

Any thoughts?

Thanks for any help!!

It's the same. I bought a little MIJ jazz set a couple years ago in that same wrap, cleaned them up a bit and sold them in one day. Stuff For Drummers has a wrap that is similar. Try that.

Thanks Bob. Its good to know they are the same wrap. I saw the stuff for Drummers wrap, its the same wrap on Ebay that called Diamond blue. thing is, the flakes are smaller on the new wrap and there much less silver.

I don't know why you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. Why place a condition on your attitude/degree of satisfaction. Shoot -- both look awesome. Meanwhile, I can tell you that I have never heard a Whitehall that sounded bad. In fact I have one at my church that sounds AWESOME. Just know this - if need be, re-cut the bearing edges. If you have to pay to have thenm done -- worth every penny. It will completely transform a drum - in a good way.

You should talk to Marc Patch, who is likely the best expert on MIJ drums in general. He's on the FB MIJ drums page.
