Live miking a ride

Since I sing, and the other guys do as well, I don't need to mic my ride. Other mics pick it up fine.

I have a vocal mic as well, but I do mic my ride in large rooms or outdoors.
I'll either use a Shure PG81 condenser, or the more subtle Audix Fusion15 condenser about 18" above the ride cymbal alongside my right side crash.
I'm always careful with the levels though, a little goes a long way with condensers on cymbals, they're usually hotter than you think in the FOH mix.
 
If your PA horns have Titanium diaphragms, you may find the ride cymbal to sound pretty obnoxious. Have a listen out front, if need be. Let someone else play the cymbal...
