Saw them in the D last night.

When it wasn't a KC vs Tool concert, I really liked the textures and soundscapes.

Vai was dive bombing on his blazing notes volcano solos and Danny was beating the crap out of his kit sometimes, and it was hard to listen to while their egos took over.

When they served the music it was heavy and light and uniquely KC. That was the majority of the show, thankfully.

I think that I must have commented on it already, but nonetheless, I saw this group a few months ago here in Portland and the show was phenomenal. If I have to compare (and I always do!), I"l say that preferred the original band, which I saw way back int he 80s (a couple of times), though that's no knock on this group as they did great interpretations of those old songs... close to the originals, but still putting a bit of their own stamp on it. I loved this music when I heard it growing up, but apparently a whole lot of other folks did too and there was a really nice vibe going on in the concert hall with so many people being so moved by the songs these folks were playing. This show reminded me of just how special... and how unique this music really is.

If they were to tour again in '25, I would be getting tickets immediately. The show was really great and one of my favorites that I'd seen in a very long time...
