I think in addition to no RELIGION or POLITICS we should ad SPORTS to the NO list of topics....the amount of "OT's" being posted here seems to be steadily increasing...and some dont even title them OT....I come here for drum stuff and drum stuff only...music related is great, but MAYBE we need a whole other section on DFO, for the OT's (so you can go to that section with a list of all posts not about drums/drumming), and I can go to the other sections and see 100% related posts.....just a thought.....
I would 100% be on board with that. To ban anything that isn't super divisive or polarizing that's not having to do with drums would prevent some camaraderie or friendly conversation with folks that we already share a common thread with. We've seen some silly OT stuff and some extremely serious and emotional OT topics. Having a "general talk" or "free for all" section would be a cool thing. I personally don't feel theres too many OT threads, but being that it is a drum forum, having a section to keep this stuff in is a cool idea!

I think there has been a general tendency here to be divisive on everything. Religion and politics go downhill especially fast, but we should be able to discuss sports without flaming...but I guess I know better.
I'm waiting for the day when the Yamaha vs. Ludwig thread gets nasty and has to be shut down.....
"Yeah, but Yamaha knew all the time about the defects and yet still kept making drums. They are a big corporation that only cares about profit. Anyone that would do business with them is part of the problem." and so on........

As it says in the header, the general section is for pretty much anything,,,,including college football.
I am a fan of both Auburn and Alabama, so when the Iron bowl is played....I flip a coin.

OK, I'll go. As a long-suffering UK football fan (Go Cats!) and a longtime UK basketball fan, I can't wait for the season to start. I'm a huge SEC fan and a huge college football fan. The SEC is NOT overrated; were might be some years, but look at our 25-year record in bowls against the Big 10, PAC-10, ACC, etc., and I think you'll see football is best in the SEC more than 75% of the time. Prove me wrong.

Something like 11 of the last 14 national champions from sec

I would've rather seen WVU in the ACC or SEC than the big 12. The ACC would've been the best fit. The SEC always has some incredibly hard nosed defenses. I'd like to see an 8 team playoff mostly.

But if you go to 8 teams the 9th team will want to push for 10...
