The time has come to sell my workhorse kit from the past 12 years: a Pearl Reference Pure kit in stunning Piano Black lacquer finish. You can find videos of this kit all over my YouTube channel to get a feel for what it sounds like in a variety of different situations: www.youtube.com/michaeldangelomusic
Asking $2,000 shipped (CONUS) for DFO members.
It is a unique shell pack that includes two bass drums for different playing applications: either as a bop kit with an 18" bass drum, or with a 20" bass drum for an all-around kit that works in any musical genre. The Reference Pure formula has different wood types and bearing edges depending on the size of the drum. I also changed the stock FatTone hoops for SuperHoop II's on the toms.
12x8 Tom – 6 ply maple, rounded 45° bearing edge
14x14 Floor Tom – 8 ply maple/mahogany, roundover bearing edge
18x14 Bass Drum (w/ BB3 mount) – 6 ply maple/mahogany, roundover bearing edge
*Tom arm and floor tom legs will be included.
These drums have been meticulously taken care of over the years. The finish and hardware shine like the day they were new. There are a few cosmetic imperfections to note however. The 12" tom and 18" bass drum have a hairline lacquer crack. There are two photos which attempt to show the crack, but it is very faint and difficult to notice unless the finish is reflecting in the right light. These hairline cracks are underneath the surface and have no impact on playability or sound. I suspect it was due to natural changes in weather patterns that caused the finish to crack under expansion and contraction.
The second imperfection is also on the 18" bass drum underneath the player side right bass drum spur. There was some finish rash due to a Yamaha Crosstown cymbal stand (a warning if you own that kind of hardware, it will scratch your drums!), but I was able to get touch up paint matched to the finish and repaired the scratching. It is not in a noticeable spot and again has no affect on the instrument's playability or sound.
Please message with any questions. Thanks for looking!

(Bass drum rashing. I sold that Yamaha Crosstown hardware quick after finding this!)
