Hi guys!

This is one of the classic funk intros that everybody should know. I tried to transcribe and play it as close to original as possible. Hope you like it!

Smokin! Just gave me something to work on this weekend!

Well it's not nearly as easy as you make it seem... even Ricky Lawson struggles with it:

I watched that Ricky video earlier and it's quite funny to see him struggle but his attitude is great and he's going to "work it out" :) RIP Ricky, one of my groove heroes.

Great job on the break down of squib cakes.
Thanks Doubleroll! By the way I'm in New York right now, tomorrow going to see Mark Guiliana gig at Rockwood Music Hall :)

Kaide that is awesome enjoy the show! We will be at the Blue Note NYC checking out Spyro Gyra tomorrow :) woohoo!!!

Very disappointing video! I was hoping for at least one run down the toms to see if the others sounded as amazing as that 10"! Other than. That, the playing was fantastic and informative. That last bass drum note going into the open hats really makes the pattern complete. It would be easy to ignore but it just sounds better with it in place.
