Wait, your source is some random dude in the BB Facebook group?! Yikes.

The same group where other more reputable members have refuted that Güven actually made the shells?

None of this has been confirmed by any reputable sources and, to this point, is all hearsay with a ton of conflicting reports.
Wait, I remember you. Never mind. I have zero interest in going in circles.

Gigged this bad boy last night.

From the audience perspective, drum sounded great! It's always hard to tell how things will sound from up close, behind the kit. It's so easy to perseverate on "snare buzz" and "overtones". But after using mics, and sound guy manipulation, the sound of the drum is really optimized.

Is it really that much different from my Duluth builds or gretsch usa BB? Not sure. Hard to do a true side by side comparison since they all have different heads. But I think the hardware will be more reliable than hardware from the 80s, so I'm more likely to gig the 50th and gretsch BB rather than Duluths at this point.

Awesome stuff!

I have a 50th BB order to show up with a Star maple kit. Not sure it will match, but it's the starting point for picking a snare for my new kit.
