I have one. It replaced my failing JoJo pedal (before they came out with the "Standard" model, which fixes the problems). I like it fine. Not as smooth as a JoJo, but it's decent -- and cheap!

I bought one when I got my Classic Maples. It was recommended to me for the 18." My other pedals didn't feel right and I didn't want to buy a riser. This pedal did the trick. I have zero complaints.

I have 2 of these pedals. I like them but both have issues with the bolts for tightening the hoop clamp. Both bolts are loose in the hole and seem to run out of threads before tightening on some of my drum hoops. They just quit grabbing and spin but sometimes I can squeeze the actual clamp while slowly turning the bolt and they grab again. Every time I put them on a drum I'm concerned with stripping the threads on the bolt or in the hole. That is the only bummer. Mine were bought right after they came out so maybe the issue has been fixed.

I bought one when they first came out to be the backup for my Sonor Perfect Balance pedal . The Tama started squeaking almost immediately and just did not feel anywhere near as smooth as my Sonor Perfect Balance pedal . I was not expecting it to . The Tama pedal just was not to my liking and I sold it .i could never get it to feel how I wanted it .

I should add that one attraction for me -- beside the sweet price -- is the smooth foot-board. Same with the JoJo.

Sadly, my experience was similar. As much as I wanted to like it, this was just unacceptable to me.

I wasn't aware of this pedal...interesting. How often do you guys play with the tension that having it easy to get to matters...I don't mess w/it at all myself...the adjustable angle and beater height seem cool....PS-the tama video with Erskine showing the hardware is nice too (his playing and explanations).

Quite honestly that depends on a few things... if I'm playing different bass drums over the course of a month or two with the same pedal. A double headed 20 one weekend, or a padded 22 the next, I might make some minor changes. The DW's I've played for year are certainly a bit inconvenient but not impossible to access.. I like the Tama when I look at it in stores..

I virtually never make any adjustments, once I have it dialed it (even that takes about 2 minutes). The price and the smooth foot-board were the big attractions for me.

I have one and like it very much. Not quite as light (action) as my Calato pedal but a good reliable well built and adjustable pedal.

I have one which I really like along with the Tama classic lightweight stands

Like the Speed King, the Tama Classic squeaks. It comes from the heel plate hinge. A little grease eliminates it. Comparing it to a three times more expensive high end pedal is a bit unfair IMO. The pedal is what it is and really cheap to boot and for sure not to everyones liking. My main pedal is a Tama DynaSync and there is no comparison; smoothness, action, build quality etc.. But for an 18" bass drum this pedal does the trick.

Wow. My experience is totally different

No sqeaking at all
Totally adjustable tension

Not bouncy at all..unless you adjust it that way

The "perfect" pedal for 16" and 18" bass drums because of height adjustment.

The quietest pedal I've ever owned

The only negative (and Im being OCD here)...my Tama Camco is lighter and easier to pack and Im used to it.

So Im selling my HP50 if anyone is interested.

Or maybe ill keep it. Win win either way

I have no issues ON either of my bass drum Hoops.
Mine is pretty new though.

I have one. It works extremely well-- no issues at all. As I've done with pretty much every other pedal on the market (DW 5000, 6000, 9000, Tama IC, Sonor Perfect Balance, Axis, etc) I used it for a couple gigs, decided I liked my cheapo Yamaha pedals better, and stopped using it. I'd sell it. It's just sitting there in its box.

I have two, no issues. The height adjustment is great for 18" bass drums.
