I'm decommisioning a cross country ski excersier from the 70s and there is a enough wood to make 2 possibly 3 snares from the teak components
Curious if anyone has ever used teak
I know the issues I'll have with the inherit natural oil as I would be using a stave technique

Yeah, after I changed my search criteria I found some examples.
Pulled the skier apart today maybe 2 14 x 4 drums worth of stock to start with

This is one I never should've sold. 5.5 x 13 teak segmented shell. Last seen somewhere in Australia...if anyone knows who owns it, I would love to buy it back.

I have a ski exerciser I don't see enough wood in mine for much of a snare.... boat swim platforms are also often made of teak...that might be another good wood source.

I wasn't out looking to build a drum from teak, just trying to repurpose something that could have gone in the trash
I have done many a projects using the discarded, and forgotten materials
Rough calculation with the 3 long pieces gives me enough for (2) 14 x 4 drums
