Has anyone tried these? I put one on my COB Camco just for kicks and I love it. I play this snare 90% of the time now. I need to try this head on some other snares to see if it's just a fluke.

What is the difference between standard Emporer heads and the Vintage Emporers?

From Remo.com:

Emperor
Coated Emperor heads are warmer and more durable than Clear Emperors. Theyre made with two free-floating plies of 7-mil Mylar film, which gives consistent open warm tones which accounts for their popularity among many of todays Studio, Pop, R&B and Rock drummers.

Vintage Emperor
A reissue of the first Remo Emperor drumhead that changed the art of drumming in the late 1960s. Constructed of 2-plies of 7.5-mil polyester films, they feature sensitivity and snare response of the Coated Emperor, accentuated mid and low frequencies and increased durability.

I dig the Vintage Amb. on a few of my snares & 14" FTs. I'll have to look around for a Vintage Emp.

They sound thicker than standard Emporers. I guess that's a good thing?

A bit too muted for me.

Vintage Ambassadors + 3-ply 70s Ludwigs = holy crap. I think the Emporers would sound too "thick" on this kit for my tastes, considering the vintage Amb sounds pretty thick as it is.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to use the Vintage A line on my toms for my Luddy Retro SE
