I think legend is the active work. Woodstock is one of these self-congratulatory things that made some people a lot of money and didn't change a thing. So while all the hippies and the counter-culture slapped each other on the back, it was the National Guard and state police that were feeding and watering the masses, and the body bags still came back from Vietnam.
