Dave Dicenso (Two Ton Shoe)is an absolute monster his skill set is what I'd call a technician.

Joe Early (Super 400) This guy is without a doubt obscure to most but he's the real deal, he has a way of playing the right part for the song.

Two Ton Shoe

Super 400

didn't see these guys mentioned, so I guess they're somewhat obscure ...

Pick Withers was an epiphany when I first saw him with Dire Straits. He played perfectly for the music:

I've been resisting, but after some thought I think I'd add Gene Barnett (Dirty Looks, Lillian Axe), just because I really dig the DL stuff he was on, and seeing him live several times was way fun.

Steve Gorman of The Black Crowes

... and that's who I was going to say. Everything he does just fits.
It must be me.
I don't consider Steve Gorman, or The Black Crowes, "obscure".
I agree with Vistaliter's comments, but to me, these guys have "made it", and you can't be "obscure" if you've "made it".
To me, they're rock stars.

The late, great Richie Hayward, of Little Feat.

Here's the title track of my favorite Little Feat Album.

Well he will probably be obscure to a lot of you guys, but he was in a pretty popular band called Creed, that many loved to hate. He is now the drummer in Alter Bridge, one of my favourite bands. His name is Scott Phillips. Love his drumming style.
