I've always wanted to try an Earth ride, and I was able to get this 22" recently.

It's a beast! It's like the whole thing is a bell and I think it weighs 50lbs! Definitely not for all music types, but it's super fun to play and goes will with my Byzance extra drys.

"Earth" is very faint on top, with a nice open logo on bottom. I think this means it's an early version - late 70s / early 80s (?)

What genre are you using it for? I understand why metal/heavy drummers like the Earth, but I'm always a little surprised when I hear jazz players using them.

I have the 20", always wanted the 22".
Probably not worth it to me anymore price-wise.

What did you pay, if you don't mind?
I got it for a deal-of-the-year at $165 (plus tax). It was at a junk/thrift store here in Dallas. I don't think they knew what it was, and they seemed happy to get rid of it. I measured it twice because I couldn't believe it was a 22; I had only seen 20s over the years.

I'm just having fun with it. Not sure I would gig with it, or if I did, I would have an extra ride to go with it.

I can see why Billy wanted something to cut through, it does have a nice bell!

Holy cow, that's awesome! You stole it!
