I don't think I could ever own a drum like that (or even be around one, for that matter), because my incessant drooling would inevitably ruin the finish... ;)

(absolutely stunning, btw!!!)

Beautiful! I'd be too nervous to take that out to a show. Congrats!

Wow, that is a beautiful drum, and the one I wanted most from this year. Instead, I will have to live vicariously through you. :) Nice drum!

Beautiful drum! It may not be a drum you play out with but you have to give it a go at home. I do the same thing with my AVH snare. What year did you get? Play it in good health my friend. Congratulations.

the drums dont have a year on them in fact the do not even have a serial ##

Wow what a fantastic looking drum. Do you plan on playing out with it? Or is it more of a collection piece.

welcome to the forum alex959. :)

Welcome aboard, Alex!
Grumpy, that is truly awe-inspiring. Congratulations on being fortunate enough to own one.

Still waiting for mine to arrive. Can't wait. This is the one to get. LUDWIG 100 years . For a new drum....what else would you want.

Greetings Everyone, Yes, it came in a hard shell case and is 6.5" deep. I handled it with the white gloves because it had zero prints on it from the factory. It won`t be played but put on display with the Bun E. Carlos snare and the engraved Black Magic snare which has yet to arrive. I consider the 100th anniversary special. All three drums will be passed down to my son who will hopefully pass them on to his son or daughter after I am gone. The last band I was in played a lot of bars where the women drink beer from the picther....they don`t need no stinkin` glass...and the last thing I would want is one to stumble up spilling beer saying "That drum sure is purtty". Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I bought this drum with my income tax refund....my part of helping the American economy recover.

WOW!.WoW! and wOW!
Congrats on an item I hope to never see on Ebay!
Cherish that drum!
Beautific!

I don't know if I could buy a new drum & not play it. I wish I could say I could but I don't think so. I guess it would depend on how good the drum sounded & where I would be playing it.
Great looking drum, Congrats :notworthy:
