Just finished the first leg of the tour that I'm doing with Blues Caravan. A German record label Ruf-records is arranging this annual tour in Europe and in US, showcasing their artists, and I got to be on the house band this year. The artists are Tasha Taylor (USA), Layla Zoe (CAN) and Ina Forsman (FIN).
Pretty intense schedule on the first leg, we did 21 gigs in 24 days in February, so I got to play a ton, basically every evening a 2,5 hour gig plus a sound check with every girl. And because this is a blues gig for the most parts, there were lot's of double shuffles so my left hand was really feeling it on the last gigs. :D But fun tour overall, next we are heading to Spain and then touring central Europe and Scandinavia in April.

I recorded couple of gigs and did a drum cam video, hope you like it. Pardon for the sound cutting off a bit at some points, memory card was not keeping up it seems.

Excellent! Really enjoyed that - great playing!

1st song, other than the opening, the first fill isn't until one minute into the song. Young drummers, take note.

Yeah, good point. I feel that the shuffles are very sensitive time feels for the whole band and quite challenging get them to feel just right. And somtimes the fills (at least when I play) disturbe the feel a little, it's hard to get right back to "the cooking" after a fill, so I tend often to stay on the beat if I feel that the shuffle is really working.

And thanks guys for the great feedback. :)

The tour is in Spain at the moment, and every night it seems to get tighter and more fun to play. Great to feel that developement.

Really great playing )) Gratulerer!

Thanks vik! Spain has been really nice, especially the food.
Playing tonight in Barcelona, and just noticed that the club had Al Foster playing yesterday, and Billy Hart next week. Damn, ok, so the bar is set up there... :-D
