YES!!! Just what I've been waiting for. I can see the look on my bandmembers face now when we go into the opening song.

1..2..3..4.."When a man loves a woman" DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA.
"Can't keep his mind on nuthin' else" DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA-DUGGA.

Actually, the Vruk pedal does nothing to facilitate "dugga dugga"-style drumming. It just changes the weight distribution of your foot while playing. The Vruk isn't comparable to any typical "dugga dugga" technology, such as the Duallist pedal (which is just a cheater pedal that makes 2 bass hits for each single press) or Sonor Giant Step Twin Effect pedal (allows a separate beater hit for both heel and toe). The Vruk is nothing more than an expensive ramp.

It sounded like DUGGA DUGGA to me.

Any double-bass pedal can sound like that. That's the player, not the device. I only meant that the Vruk doesn't do anything special other than adding a ramp to change weight distribution. There's no gimmick or innovation as with the Duallist or Twin Effect pedals. :)

I was sent one by Mr. Vruk himself in 1989 and reviewed it in the Jan 1990 Modern Drummer. You can probably look up the review on MD's Archives DVD if you have it. I still have the pedal attachment around here somewhere...

Actually, the VRUK does utilize the Sonor Giant Step idea (but years before them), where you need to develop a new heel/toe technique to get double hits from one pedal.

Really? My bad, then...I had a very close look at their Flash animation on the site and it didn't seem like it accomplished that. Oh well. Vruk that idea... 8)

I think once you get the hang of it,the Vruk could be a good thing.Saving you time from setting up(and dragging around) a double pedal.I've been playing double bass since ' 72.I hate having to use just a single pedal.I just like the fact that the Vruk gives you more control over the entire pedal(and the compactness of it). Now, can I get a faster single stroke roll out of a double pedal, probably. But, who would really know the difference ? If anyone has a used Vruk (or two) in good shape -cheap- I'd sure be interested .PM me,seriously.Got lots of vintage & new to trade.
