I purchased these and they seem to be working fine for me. I searched the internet for microphone bundles rather than buying individual 1 or 2 mic's at a time. I found out the bundle deals was a bigger cost saving deal. I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. Searching the web for bundles in my price range and came up with Sure, Audix and AKG. A good friend of mine (bass player, ex-sound man and musician) helped with this also, I know nothing about mic's except that they do have frequency limitations. We looked at each mic and finally decided on the AKG line of mic's. It happened to be the more expensive of the three but was still within my range.

I know there are 7 microphones in this package and I know I'll be using 3 or 4 or as much as 6 as I am now. I've always wanted my own set for just in case reasons. Most of my gigs are without microphones but there are times when they are needed. SOOO, now I have my own.

The one thing I do like about it is, I can set up my drums and mic's without relying on other people. Then during tear down everything goes into my bag of toys and they don't have to worry with me.

At the time I purchased them direct from AKG, there prices were about the same as everyone else, plus, some of the other companies were OUT OF STOCK.

Show off your most recent drum purchases here! :headbang:
Since we have a thread like this for cymbals, why don't we have one for drums and everything else drum related?

Here are my purchases/arrivals over the last 3 months:

Custom Pork Pie birch shell kit in blue sparkle wrap. Sizes are 20x14, 8x7, 10x7, 12x8, and 16x14. More pics to come later:

Gretsch 14x5 Hammered Brass snare:

And I scooped this one up last night. I had been lusting for a solid shell snare drum and the price dropped to the point where I couldn't say no.
Doc Sweeney 14x5.5 solid cherry snare drum:

Also picked up a few Ahead Armor snare cases

Show us what you've got!
That Sweeney drum is breathtaking! I invited myself to the Sweeney office on my way out of San Diego a couple of years ago and spent almost 2 hours talking to Steve about his products and many others. I found him to be a fascinating well of opinions, information, and research, as generous with his time as he is with his hospitality. I cannot imagine finishing my long lackluster career without owning at least one of his snare drums...

Just got this beast in last Monday. Tama Warlord Spartan drum set. All stainless steel shells, with the all the Warlord goodies. Some people hate them, but I love these drums! It ain’t mint by any means, and one of the hoops got broken in shipping :( But I buy my drums to play them, so I’ll get over it. New hoops are on the way.
The pic is the sellers, as mine won’t look nearly as nice.
-8x7, 10x8, 12x9 rack toms
-14x12 and 16x14 floor tom
-22x18 bass drum
-14x7 snare.
The 14x7 was only available with the kit. So it’s not the standard 14x6. Thought that was pretty cool too.

Edit. Doing a little comparing online, looks like I have #12 of 50 based off of the serial number. Didn’t come with a COA, but I’m very confident no one is making fake versions of these.

I'd been on the hunt for a 14x6.5 Black Beauty with brass hardware for some time now with no success. I got impatient and opted to pick up a 14x5 with brass hardware instead that was available on Reverb.

Less than a week later a 14x6.5 pops up for sale at my regular drum shop. At least I have options now! :icon_lol:

Not exactly a purchase, but more like a noticed sitting at the curb on trash day while walking my dog. This Rubbermaid cabinet/shelves caught my eye, and I knew I'd found a solution to organizing the snare collection. No more tripping over snare drums, and can't beat the price.

Nice choices.

I bought these on reverb last month. Thanks to some forum members I found out they are from 1985 and the last year Ludwig was in Chicago. The tom receiver bolt is stripped and it has a couple of bad lugs but fortunately I have spares for both. They sound great to my ear.

I see a Supra in the future

The Tama Classic stand hardware kit, will be interesting to se how long they will hold up, they are pretty darn thin I might say.

I do like the snare stand because it will hold my small 10" snare, and even tho it wobbles a little, I do like the wobble.

JNDC TKO Brass and Bronze.

That hardware is great! I’ve been gigging with mine regularly for over 1.5 years with it, and they are holding up really well. Would not recommend for the heavy hit tiers out there, but is amazing for slightly tamer gigs. Had up to a 24” ride on mine with no stability issues. The hi hat has great feel to it, and really good action on the pedal. I always recommend this hardware set. I really like the bass drum pedal too.

Well, I went and did it again. And this time I'm really done for real for a while now. I mean enough is enough.

I could not get the sound of this drum out of my head -- an absoture H-Bomb of dry crack, strong projection and really pleasing shell tone. It's crisp and rich...almost woody, but not an organic sound. For me, it's really unique. I've never heard anything like it. It's nice and loud, but not abusive. My brand new Pearl Exotic Hybrid Vectorcast Snare: 5x14.

I went back to the good people of Ritchie's Musiic in Rockaway, NJ, and they set me up with a phenominal price on this beautiful drum. Only $500 -- when I've seen them going for as much as $1000 brand new. DCP has them at about $735. So the guys at Ritchie's really did GREAT by me.

Something I'm really pleased with -- the Glide Lock throw off ans stariner. Precision built and simple. Super smooth and silent. Really great to work with. I had no idea Pearl's hardware was so impressive.

Needless to say, I'm incredibly impressed with the construction of this instrument. I still don't know what it's made of. As another member here has said, Pearl is pretty cagey with the info on this shell material. I don't know if it's a proprietary material -- but I'm loving it!:drunken::headbang:

Edges seem sharp. I'm wondering how long the snare side head will hold up. LOL

Well, just in this week from the land of the rising sun... my new 14x6.5 Vectorcast! Gotta say, it has a really weird high pitch ring, sort of on top of the main note and the snare crack. I hadn't gotten that from the videos I'd seen. Is that your experience too? Still digging it.

Ok, I also have to say I've been noticing my pics really suck compared to most around here. I take them with my Galaxy Xcover Pro phone. Is it just me, or does my camera suck? Just curious, lol.
