I had 16" K Lights that I kinda wish I didn't sell. One day I'm into it, others I feel a tic behind. They definitely create a vibe and if I had more $ I would have a pair to set different moods. They make me think differently.

15" are still my bread and butter. But I totally get it.

16’s are pretty much all I’m using now. Haven’t played anything smaller consistently in 10 years.

I have an A medium thin that I use over an A rock crash. That’s been my main setup. Very chunky and somehow they’re really dark sounding.

I also play 16” meinl extra dry medium thins. These are great for recording. Very crisp sounding hats.

I think 15s are more versatile overall, but I’m digging the 16s a lot.

I have had a pair of Zildjian 16" hi-hats since 1978. They were my main cymbals until a few years ago when I started experimenting with Paiste's, K's, etc.
They are great for rock, country, and I would imagine would drive a bnig band very well.

Before I got these, I used to borrow my school's 18" concert cymbals and brought them home every weekend to play on my kit, as I did not have HH cymbals. They worked, too, but they were a bit heavy and cumbersome from what I recall.

I was using an A custom for a bottom, HH thin top.

It sounded great, but just not loud enough for live. It'd probably be good for recording something or other. Very mellow, fun to play, but I went back to 14" heavy 2002s.

For about four years I've been using two 16" K constantinoples, lighter one on top. Love the sound. I've set aside my 13" for quite a while now. One thing I have noticed is that I think that my arm gets tired more from them. Mental? Don't know, but maybe it takes a bit more effort to work them. I use the shank a lot, so maybe I go into the larger ones further?
