Hi everyone,
I have decided to get rid of a few drums since I don’t play anymore and don’t want them to collect dust. Paid a good amount for it back then, because I loved the sound so much.
I bought this snare drum years ago from a collector and am trying to assess what the market value would be now. Unfortunately I don’t have much information about the wood, model, etc. who can help me identify it and what do you guys think would be reasonable to ask for this one? I think I index it for 1.500$ since Brady’s aren’t made anymore.

I think Kelly Brady who ran Brady US has a FB page for Brady stuff...I'd ask her...she knows her stuff and might even know some interested parties (and I suspect there are a few hear too)

I have two 7 x 12, or had two of them. An older one with the brassy badge, and newer one with a little drum guy on it. The newer one had a smaller crack and since I don't play them that often, and I talk to Chris Heuer about fixing it, that's the one I kept. I figured the older one would be more valuable

I sold it a couple of years ago. I can look at the reverb auction but that price won't be valid now. It really was about two years ago and I think the price i got was around 1000 though, if that gives you any idea.

I really thought it would go for more, I had a lot of interest in it, but not a lot of big ticket big money buyers

Oh that's good to know! I'll make sure to check that page out, thanks!!

Thanks for your perspective! It is a great drum so I'd say worth every penny, but let's see what buyers are willing to spend..

I actually went to reverb today and looked up my listing.

I sold mine two years ago. It says I got 1275, but I may have taken a little less to not pay the reverb fees. I do know that I had to lower the price and also it wasn't completely and thoroughly all original. I had to replace the strainer and some of the leather washers. So maybe people got put off by that. I probably had it for 15 or 1600 with no takers. I can send you the listing if you like.

I do see a lot of the sold listings and Drums are going for $2000 and more. I don't know why. Maybe they're looking for what Larry Mullen plays, or some version of a very famous recorded drum. I literally don't know why some sale and some don't

Good luck with it though. Let us know how it works out. If you want my old listing, you can message me and I'll send it to you.

Hi Dave,

You've got what looks like a 12x7 Jarrah Ply shell with a Blackheart finish. The gummy badge ended in 2005 so your drum was probably made between the years 2000 and 2005. The serial number should say JP for Jarrah Ply and the date it was made (the serial number is inside the drum on a sticker).

Value between $1500 and $2500 depending on condition and how much someone wants it.

Some Bradys do sell for really high prices but that's down to the rarity of the shell type or finish.

Tom
