Well you asked so.... Over all just to busy. It sounds like a "I'm bored entertain yourself fun practice" which is fine, have fun but I would have been more impressed if you just layed it down, a little behind the beat and just kept it there. That kind of simple feel and groove practice if executed well would get you work. Sloppy fills and stepping all over the vocals and groove with busy stuff is just not that happening.

Understanding the difference between, playing in time, playing with real feel, and control of the space and dynamics between the limbs takes patience, practice and restraint. You certainly have the skills to work on pocket playing you just need to get in that mindset and appreciate the simplicity. Why does everyone love AC DC's back in black? The placement of the snare and kick with the guitar starts off super simple but everything falls not just in time but in the right place in the time. Simple stuff executed to perfection. It rocks, or grooves or has feel. Feel beats chops.

It is completely normal for young drummers to want to play chops and fills and practice double bass and licks etc. If you can get just as excited as creating a good feel you might really get somewhere.

I think it's too busy and linear. The song needs a deep simple groove with burst of chops, and not continuous fills or patterns. I like the syncopation and funky chops you added, but it steps on the vocals too much. You have some great pieces to work with, I think you can make it awesome.

Thanks for the two professional feedbacks!

Really appreciate your opinion and thought.

I will start by saying that I'll never play like that in real band or live, "my agenda" in this channel is to put the drums in the center, not to 'serve' the singer or guitars just for a second - and think what could this machine (drumset) can do without surrendering. And this is my 'vision' to this song's drums without being thoughtful to other players (although you can hear fills and rhythm changes that answering and giving power to the sing and guitar).

So if you say it's feels Busy and taking the place of the band - im happy cause that's what is tried to do ☺️

ACDC is the perfect example for the opposite view of me in drums - and I very don't like drum parts of ACDC.

The same thing you can say about cobus or portnoy and many other drummers that don't like the tightness and patience in drums..

BUT music as music - there so much opinions and ways to do music and everybody's right for me!

I hate acting as the forum police since I'm just a member like yourself, but since no one else seems to have mentioned this...my only question is...why have you posted this in multiple sections of the forum?

FYI..."look at me" video links should probably be posted in the 'Video Files' section of DFO below. Not in "General" or "Gigs". On certain posts where I've mentioned say, Dino Danelli or Terry Bozzio, I might include a video link as it is part of a specific discussion relating to 'them'. Anything I've ever shared about 'me' I put in the Video Files section.

You're a new member so you probably didn't realize this. I might add that having your first posts being all about you and your playing might be a little off-putting to some.

I'm sure you are getting plenty of feedback on yourbYouTube channel. What specifically are you hoping to hear from this membership?

Again, I'm not an authority here so feel free to tell me to water off.

Keep at it and maybe you'll get endorsed!

First off, it takes guts for any of us to post video clips. It also takes guts to ask for feedback - those two things are good signs! You obviously can play. I think your comment that you were busy because that is what you tried to do is valid.

So my criticism is just to keep making videos, and hold back on posting any particular clip until the execution is close to dead on. You have good ideas, and sometimes you aren't coming out of them with 100% accuracy - and just so you know, I do the same thing, and it drives me nuts! One example - at around 37 seconds you try a little bass drum thing that doesn't quite work, then the next snare hit is late. THAT is the stuff to work on - it may not be busy vs simple, it might just be "on" vs "off" - don't get me wrong, plenty of good stuff on the clip, but in terms of gigging, clean execution matters!

very helpful feedback!! going right now to work on accuracy (i have to admit that i had a big recording jump so i had little time to actually learn good the drums)

please see my next one and tell me i f you feel different!

you sound like a good man! can i upvote you in some way?

+ it takes guts to live in israel especially to be a musician in Israel, so in that matter I don't lack ☺️

Isn't it cool that this forum spans the globe? Thanks for the kind words, you don't need to do anything for me. It looks like Uptown Funk is your latest video - which one would you like us to listen to next?
